Rained Out

There’s a particular kind of disappointment that only skaters understand. The kind that hits right when you arrive, board in hand, ready to move, only to feel the first drops of rain.

That moment became the inspiration behind this painting. I wanted to capture the stillness that comes when a session is cut short before it even begins.

What drew me to this scene was the contrast. Skateboarding is usually about motion, energy and expression. But here, everything is still. This painting is less about skateboarding itself and more about showing up, being ready but having to sit with the unexpected.
